🔒  Your data, your rights

Privacy Policy

We believe in full transparency about how your personal data is collected and used.

Last updated: October 2026

1. Who we are

ArtsFlick (artsflick.com) is a free online photo editor and set of image tools run by a small independent team. The team behind it is responsible for the personal data described in this policy. Our website is hosted in Germany. For any privacy question or request, email [email protected].

2. The short version

  • Your photos are edited in your browser. They are not uploaded to our servers.
  • If you create an account, we store your name, email address and a few account details. If you sign up with a password, we only store it in hashed form, so nobody at ArtsFlick can read it.
  • We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used, and we plan to show ads through Google AdSense. Both use cookies, and you can choose which non-essential cookies to allow.
  • You can delete your account at any time, and your account data is deleted immediately.

3. Your photos and files

The photo editor and the image tools (compress, resize, crop and convert) process your images inside your browser on your own device. Your images are not sent to or stored on our servers, and we cannot see them. When you close or reload the page, the image is gone unless you have downloaded it.

If we add features in the future that store images or projects on our servers, for example to save your work between visits, we will update this policy before those features go live and explain what is stored and for how long.

4. Information we collect

When you create an account

  • Email and password sign-up: your name, your email address and your password. The password is stored only as a secure hash, never in readable form.
  • Sign in with Google or GitHub: the basic profile details the provider shares with us, such as your name and email address. We do not receive your Google or GitHub password.
  • Account details: your answer to "What will you be using ArtsFlick for?", the date your account was created and the date your password was last changed.
  • Continue as Guest: we create a temporary session so the editor works for you. It does not ask for your name or email address.

When you use the website

  • Technical data: like any website, our hosting provider and Cloudflare receive your IP address, browser type and the pages you request, which is needed to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
  • Analytics: if you allow analytics cookies, Google Analytics collects information such as the pages you visit, how long you stay, your approximate location (country or city level) and your device type.
  • Cookies: see section 7 and our Cookie Policy.

5. How we use your information

  • To provide your account (signing in, keeping you signed in, password resets). This is necessary to provide the service you asked for.
  • To keep the site secure and working, for example by preventing abuse. This is in our legitimate interest in running a safe service.
  • To understand and improve the site with Google Analytics, only if you consent to analytics cookies.
  • To show ads through Google AdSense, with personalised ads only if you consent where the law requires it.

We do not sell your personal data.

6. Advertising

We plan to show ads on ArtsFlick through Google AdSense. When ads are shown:

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet.
  • You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google's Ads Settings, and opt out of many third-party vendors' cookies at aboutads.info.
  • You can read how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

7. Cookies and your choices

We use cookies that are needed for the site to work, such as keeping you signed in, and, with your consent, cookies for analytics and advertising. When you first visit, a consent banner provided by CookieYes lets you accept, reject or customise non-essential cookies, and you can change your choice later. Our Cookie Policy lists the cookies in more detail.

8. Services that receive data

We use the following services to run ArtsFlick. Each receives only what it needs for its job:

  • Hostinger (Germany): hosts our website and account database.
  • Cloudflare: delivers the site quickly and protects it from attacks. It sees your IP address and the pages you request.
  • Google: Google Analytics, Google AdSense, Sign in with Google, and Google Fonts, which your browser loads directly, so Google sees your IP address.
  • GitHub: Sign in with GitHub, if you choose it.
  • CookieYes: shows the cookie banner and records your consent choice.
  • Pixabay: provides the stock photos in the editor. Your search terms are used to find photos, and the photos load from Pixabay's servers, so Pixabay sees your IP address.
  • Iconify: provides the icons in the editor. Icon previews and icons you add load from Iconify's servers, so Iconify sees your IP address.
  • Content delivery networks such as cdnjs and jsDelivr, which host some of the scripts, fonts and styles the site uses. Your browser loads these files directly from them.

9. International transfers

Our website is hosted in the European Union, but some of the services above are based in, or process data in, other countries such as the United States. Where that happens, the transfer relies on safeguards recognised under EU law, such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

10. How long we keep your data

  • Account data is kept while your account exists. When you delete your account, your account data is deleted immediately.
  • Analytics data is kept according to our Google Analytics retention settings, after which Google deletes it.
  • Technical and security logs are kept only as long as needed to run and protect the site.

11. Your rights

Depending on where you live, including under the EU and UK GDPR, you have the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you and get a copy of it;
  • correct data that is wrong;
  • delete your data. You can delete your account yourself under Login & Security in your account;
  • object to or restrict some uses of your data;
  • withdraw your consent to cookies at any time through the cookie banner;
  • complain to the data protection authority in your country.

To use any of these rights, email [email protected]. We may ask you to confirm your identity before acting on a request.

12. Children

ArtsFlick is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

13. Security

The site is served over HTTPS, passwords are stored only as secure hashes, and access to our servers is restricted. No system is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and will act quickly if a problem is found.

14. Changes to this policy

We will update this policy when the way we handle data changes, for example before adding features that store your images. The date at the top of the page shows when it last changed.

15. Contact

For questions or requests about your data, email [email protected].
